Veil Warden
Warden — Pre-Alpha Playtest
Enter the Veils. Face the Shades. Recover the Spirit Cores.
Warden is an early-development tactical fantasy RPG where positioning, timing, and resource management determine whether you survive.
When mysterious Veils appear around populated settlements, the people trapped inside vanish from reality. As a Warden, you are one of the few capable of entering these dangerous places, confronting the Shades within, and extracting the Spirit Cores that sustain them.
Current Features
- Turn-based tactical combat with swords and pistols
- Enemy behaviors that reward defending, retreating, and positioning
- Three explorable Veils with hidden encounters
- Spirit-based survival instead of conventional health
- A Guild Hall with equipment upgrades, supplies, and progression
- Playable in a desktop or mobile browser
Development Status: Pre-Alpha
This is an early playable prototype. Content is limited, balancing is ongoing, and bugs are expected.
Feedback Wanted!
I'm looking for players willing to test the game and share their experiences. I'm especially interested in combat difficulty, whether the mechanics are understandable, and which features you'd like to see expanded.
Please leave feedback or bug reports in the comments below.

Would be cool if the move menu was also the map, or just showed the same info as the map that way you can kind of have that overview while moving.
Also the clues are thematic but it would be nice if there were some interaction with them almost like little random events ranging from mildy helpful to potentially damaging. Maybe if its an obvious trap it could hurt you or maybe its a situation where there is some food sitting there and you just got lucky and your spirit could go up just a bit.
Thank you for the feed, on the movement especially!
